Social Ministry
Educating, encouraging and empowering the community to be a just and loving people, to establish right relationships and to build just social structures. It is an umbrella of focus points.
Community Outreach
- Bloomin’ Optimists provide beautification around our community
- Creation Stewards provides an awareness and encourages the practice of good environmental choices in our lives and in our community
- Mercy Bridges, a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, provides literacy services to adults
- Quilt Ministry provides lap quilts and coverings for persons in nursing homes or in special need of comfort
- Social Ministry educates, encourages and empowers the community to be a just and loving people
- SWEM (Southwest Ecumenical Ministry) Food Cupboard collection occurs on the 3rd weekend of the month; St. Monica is also pick up location for those who use SWEM services
- Westside Farmers’ Market runs from June through October in the St. Monica parking lot, providing an opportunity to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and enjoy entertainment for all who visit.
- Wrap & Run provides gift wrapping for Marketplace mall shoppers for a nominal donation from the Friday after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve
